The FAC in Minneapolis is a unique installation, a playground for the food industry. Drawing on 160 years of food processing expertise, we’ve created this pilot plant as a platform for developing new ways to transform peas, chickpeas, beans, corn, oats, special grains and many other crops, into flours, flakes, snacks, pasta, cereals, meat analogs, food ingredients, and a myriad of extruded products. The new food solutions created here will lead to more sustainable food systems and better nutrition for millions of people.

The FAC is a unique installation. It enables the combination of several processes for the development of food products.

Drawing on 160 years of food processing expertise, we created this pilot plant as a platform for testing new ideas, and developing new products.

The FAC has a complete grinding system with hammer mill, pin mill, roller mills, plan sifters, purifier and mill pneumatics.

Flaking system

Flaking system for Prime Masa flour and flaking trials

Our PolyFlake produces flakes from extruded or boiled maize (corn), wheat, oats, multigrain, and other raw grains while meeting the most rigorous standards in terms of product quality, throughput capacity, hygiene, and ease of maintenance.

Extrusion center

Twin shaft extruder line for a wide range of trials and trainings

The high torque, variable screw speed and pressure variables on our twin-screw extruder bring flexibility to meet different process requirements. Also, our modular design allows for the customization of this machine to different applications.
