DISS cross control

Increased product consistency by increased degree of automation

The DISS cross control is a sophisticated feature of the DISS sensor in combination with the Al feeder – drive system for low rates. Using adjustable feedback signals, linked to the individual evaporation sources and Al feeders brings a fully automatic optimization and control of layer uniformity.

Free margins based on flash evaporation

Automated free margin evaporator delivers consistent results

Our innovative oil evaporator generates unmetalized margins in the machine direction for increased consistency in your film capacitor manufacture. The supplied quantity of oil is automatically managed depending on the total area of free margins, the winding speed and the layer thickness, and is recycled in a closed loop for lower cost and better environmental performance.

Powerful plasma pre-treatment

High product consistency and improved layer adhesion

Our powerful plasma pre-treatment consists of a gas-injection module built within a single-side plasma cathode. This brings you cleaning, ablation, cross-linking and surface modification, optimizing the process conditions to improve layer adhesion.

The advanced AI evaporator is used for depositing aluminum layers in a range of 1 Ω/□ up to 100 Ω/□, using the innovative arrangement and flexible height adjustment of the individual sources to optimize layer uniformity. As well as pure aluminum applications, the evaporation source can also be used simultaneously with other sources for applications with layer stacks.

All of your coatings and profiles can be combined with segmented, unmetalized structures by using our optional pattern printing system. Installed in a drawer for easy access, it consists of an oil evaporator, anilox and flexo roller, including sleeve. The structure of the sleeves can be manufactured down to 1/100 mm to deliver high-end printing tailored to your precise product needs.

Products manufactured with the LEYBOLD OPTICS CAP machines are used for applications in e-mobility, smart grid, renewable energy, buildings and many other fields. Applications include aluminum and aluminum/zinc coatings, aluminum/zinc heavy-edge coatings, silver/zinc coatings and plain, ramp or slope layer profiles.

The LEYBOLD OPTICS CAP series is available in two sizes. The LEYBOLD OPTICS CAP 650 delivers a maximum coating width of 650 mm; the LEYBOLD OPTICS CAP 900 delivers a maximum coating width of 900 mm.
