I have worked for Bühler for more than 10 years. I started in 2006 as a Design Engineer. I am now a Global Project Manager, handling large projects across the world based in our Grains and Food business unit.
For me, the most exciting part of my job is the opportunity to work with many business units and to work with customers across India, South Asia and Asia. This has given me not only the motivation and challenges but also many opportunities to see new places, learn new languages, interact with our customers and also to open up and adapt to their diverse cultures.
What do you do as a project manager?
I have managed complex and large projects for Bühler. This includes working closely with customers to understand their needs. I manage the day-to-day aspects of a project, such as managing the Engineering team, writing progress reports for sponsors, identifying risks and opportunities, etc. I also monitor and manage all the contractors, consultants and third-party suppliers for each project.
What have you learned at Bühler?
I studied management at a well-respected university, which was sponsored by Bühler. It really helped me in my career and in my personal development. I am now studying at a project management institute.
My studies in management added another dimension to the way I think as an engineer.

You took part in the Innovation Challenge. What was that like?
I have twice taken part in the Innovation Challenge at Bühler. This is a platform that encourages unique and innovative ideas to change Bühler’s businesses or markets. I had the opportunity to meet and network with other team members from all over the world – and be mentored by international business leaders. It was a great experience.
What advice would you give to someone joining Bühler?
I would say that at Bühler you have definitely exciting career prospects with vast opportunities in an innovative environment. Be open to changes and challenges, adapt and keep learning!
