Another milestone for Carat

The Carat two-platen die-casting machine has become the most popular solution for the demanding automotive structural parts. Now we have added a manufacturing base in Shanghai to our plants in Europe and the US, increasing capacity to meet ever-growing demand and getting even closer to our customers.

We are very proud that we are again one step closer to our customers. We have increased the production capacity for the very popular Carat machine series to meet the rising demand in China.

A new generation keeps Carat at the forefront of die casting

This year has also seen the adoption of a new generation of Carat, building on its 10-year success story with a number of innovations, including:

  • Higher reliability and optimized maintenance intervals
  • Up to 25 % energy savings
  • Automated first phase for a shorter cycle time

The two-platen advantage

Of course, the success of Carat has been based on its two-platen design that delivers increased machine availability with automatic locking force balance for all four tie bars.

The uniformly distributed locking force delivered by the two-platen design can also help to increase uptime and reduce the wear on the die. Less flash can help to improve product quality. The footprint of the machine is smaller than most, making it easy to integrate into existing process lines.

Simple operating makes a difference at the foundry

One of the key advantages that foundry owners appreciate is the DataView graphical user interface that can give operators better control of the complete cell.

Clearly marked alarms help to support faster trouble-shooting and automatic pre-sets can speed up die changes and restarts.
