Management trainees of the year group 2021: Their onboarding is in full swing

The new management trainees are onboard. We are excited to welcome the four new management trainees, Abdia, Priscilla, Abdulqadir, and Moises with Bühler. We are proud of this diverse group of talents joining the program and wish them all the very best for their three-year journey.

The Bühler International Management Trainee Program was launched in 2015 to strengthen the talent pipeline for future leaders. Our 2021 trainees form the 7th year group. They successfully prevailed in the assessment process against over 200 applicants.

While they all formally joined the International Management Trainee Program in 2021, none of them is new to Bühler, as they already have worked before within the company. They are very excited about the opportunity to expand their Bühler network and grow and learn, and we wish them all the very best to start their three-year journey within different Bühler entities.

Please join us in welcoming the Trainees – find out what they have to say about themselves and their contribution to Bühler:

“My name is Priscilla Abou Karam, I’m the new management trainee in GF.

I come from Lebanon, a small country known for its warm weather, good atmosphere and with that, its music.

Since music is meant to be shared and enjoyed with others, I believe it leads you to develop courage and openness to criticism. But you can also see it as a strategic game of give and take. You play with the audience where you constantly adapt to the feedback you receive.

By paying attention to that feedback, you can not only nourish your creativity, but also improve your performance. Because mistakes are inevitable, in my point of view music is also here to teach you resilience. With my willingness to take risks and accept failure, I believe I will make a positive impact here at Bühler.”

Priscilla Abou Karam obtained her Master in Mechanical Engineering at EPFL, Switzerland.

Moises Vazquez Ramirez obtained his Master in Mechanical Engineering at EPFL, Switzerland. Moises Vazquez Ramirez obtained his Master in Mechanical Engineering at EPFL, Switzerland. Moises Vazquez Ramirez obtained his Master in Mechanical Engineering at EPFL, Switzerland.

“My name is Moises Vazquez Ramirez, I come from Mexico, work in the CO₂ Quantification team and love sports and particularly climbing.

Climbing has taught me so much about perseverance. After falling a hundred times, you realize that it is only by practicing and persevering that you will eventually reach the top.

It has also taught me about building trust because if there is no trust between the climber and the belayer, it just doesn’t work. Even if you are very skillful and you have the best equipment.

For me climbing is like solving a puzzle. You need to think and evaluate every single move, so strategic thinking is necessary. And it is by persevering, building trust, and strategic thinking that I want to contribute to Bühler and face big challenges in the future.”

“My name is Abdia Hassan, the new management trainee in AM & SASG. I am from Kenya, and I have been working in the Bühler Nairobi office for the last four years.

During my free time I enjoy cooking for my friends and family. Making good food requires and teaches you to have a lot of patience, and it places a big responsibility on your shoulders. Food brings people together and cultivates great conversations.

We as the trainees come from very diverse backgrounds but are united in the common purpose of achieving the company’s set goals, and by living our Bühler values of Trust, Ownership & Passion.”

Abdia Hassan studied Gender & Development studies at Kenyatta University, Kenya. Abdia Hassan studied Gender & Development studies at Kenyatta University, Kenya. Abdia Hassan studied Gender & Development studies at Kenyatta University, Kenya.

“My name is Abdulqadir Abshir and I am the new management trainee within HR.

With my camera, I try to pick up on the finer details present in the big picture. Portrait photography, which is a huge passion of mine, is focused directly on people. You need to know who they are, what they like, and what they need to shine. This people-centric approach of my hobby is the “spice” I aspire to bring to my trainee cohort to help boost our performance. It’s what brought me here into the CHRO office from Ireland.”
