Vyncke and Bühler cooperation for a carbon-neutral food industry
Worldwide, food production of wheat, rice, soy, corn, and cocoa, for example, generates more than one billion metric tons of side streams. In many cases, these are used as an ingredient in animal feed or are used as a source of energy; some rot unused or must be transported halfway around the globe for recycling. To become a more sustainable and responsible feed and food industry, serve 10 bn people, and at the same time reduce our CO2 footprint, we need to utilize every part of the raw material - including the side streams. The more completely we can use the ingredients of the side streams, the more we will move toward a closed-loop economy with less waste and optimal energy yield. The Bühler Vyncke Energy Recovery Center is an important step in implementing our sustainability goals and creating attractive business opportunities for and with our customers for energy recovery options in food and feed production.
By adding Vyncke's energy recovery processes to our portfolio, we can offer our customers low- to zero-carbon food solutions.
Johannes Wick , CEO Grains & Food at Bühler Group
Many industries rely on our solutions to reduce their fossil fuel consumption. With Bühler, we now aim to also become the standard to reduce the CO2 footprint of the food industry.
