Bühler Networking Days 2025: Multiplying impact together

Over 1,200 guests. 90 countries. One incredible mission.

This June, Bühler’s headquarters in Uzwil became a vibrant hub as more than 1,200 leaders from the worlds of food, feed, sustainable mobility, and materials gathered for our 4th Networking Days. With the inspiring theme of “Multiplying impact together,” the event was more than a meeting point – it was a springboard for bold ideas, lasting partnerships, and renewed courage as we work to feed and move 10 billion people sustainably by 2050.

Our CEO, Stefan Scheiber, set the tone: Collaboration is the multiplier of impact. In a world full of big challenges, every breakthrough and bold decision counts – but when we work together, the ripple effects become waves that drive transformation on a global scale.

Throughout the two packed days, guests were inspired by keynote addresses from industry giants – including Harvard’s Ranjay Gulati, and sustainability pioneer Johan Rockström. They shared a common message: In the face of uncertainty, it is courageous leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and relentless innovation that drive both business success and sustainability.

From sustainability trailblazers like AAK transforming palm oil supply chains, to illycaffè and Andriani S.p.A. showing how circularity uncovers new markets and reduces waste, the stories shared were a testament to the power of practical action and partnership. Our own CTO, Ian Roberts, reinforced Bühler’s commitment to turning words into measurable results: nearly CHF 500 million invested in new scalable solutions, with real-world reductions in energy use, waste, and water across our customers’ value chains.

The spirit of “Multiplying impact together” also shone in discussions about trust in global trade, digitalization, providing safe and nutritious food, and opportunities for innovation in Africa. Whether it’s connecting smallholder farmers with global expertise or building resilient food and mobility systems, our diverse community showed that strong values and shared vision can open new ways forward.

Cutting-edge Bühler technologies were on display, from state-of-the-art milling and AI process optimization to innovations supporting sustainable car manufacturing. Amidst it all, special guest Francois Pienaar – famed for leading South Africa’s Springboks to rugby World Cup victory – reminded us that integrity and a genuine care for society are the hallmarks of great leadership.

Bühler Networking Days 2025 set a new benchmark: the largest, most diverse gathering in our history, united around the goal of multiplying positive impact. Together, we celebrated our progress and left with new energy to shape a sustainable future, for our customers and communities alike.

Thank you to everyone who took part, shared ideas, inspired action, and embodied what it truly means to multiply impact together. Let’s carry this spirit forward in everything we do!

Reactions and feedback to the event from our customers, partners, and the media were overwhelmingly positive, as seen in the images below:

“Wow, what an incredible experience at Bühler Group’s 2025 Networking Days! Having heard about the event for years from Ian Roberts and the broader team, the reality already exceeded my high expectations. What an impressive line-up of speakers, participants, pitches, demos, and so much more. I was honored to join a prestigious panel of food industry leaders, and also to introduce four amazing start-ups to pitch their business at the Scale-Up event. Thank you to the entire Bühler team for such inspiring few days, I am already excited for 2028!” - Rosie Wardle, Co-Founder and Partner at Synthesis Capital

“Thank you very much Ian Roberts, Thierry Duvanel, and the whole Bühler Group team for inviting us to the Bühler Networking Days – it was truly inspiring and emotional, especially when Francois Pienaar spoke about the victory of the Springbok team at the World Cup 1995. Amazing fact: Converting all biological side streams of Bühler customers with our technology to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) would replace the entire fossil jet fuel and make aviation sustainable!” - Philipp Furler, CEO and Founder at Synhelion

“To drive sustainable impact, we must build great businesses.” That statement from Bühler Group CTO Ian Roberts perfectly captured the spirit and mission of this year’s Bühler Networking Days. Thank you, Bühler, for hosting us and your ongoing partnership with Partners in Food Solutions. Together, we’re working to build the kinds of businesses that not only thrive – but also deliver lasting, meaningful change in food security and economic opportunity. Your vision, leadership, and action are turning that goal into reality.” - Partners in Food Solutions
