Britishvolt first full-scale Gigaplant to use Bühler’s low-carbon battery mixing technology

Uzwil (Switzerland)  – Battery technology pioneer Britishvolt, which is building its first full-scale Gigaplant in the United Kingdom, has selected Bühlers's proven mixing technology for battery slurry preparation. In line with Britishvolt’s  Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and commitments, the technology brings a 95% waste reduction and a 50% energy saving. The joint project with Britishvolt underscores Bühler's strategy of developing and scaling sustainable solutions for its customers.

Bühler opens Insect Technology Center to support customers in the feed and food industries

Uzwil (Switzerland), Bühler Group is officially opening its world-class Insect Technology Center (ITC). Located in Uzwil, Switzerland, the facility brings together Bühler’s expertise and the best infrastructure to help the industry to further develop. In the ITC, Bühler and its customers can conduct larvae growth trials with various feedstock, develop product samples, evaluate breed solutions, and run trainings. The ITC, which obtained funding from Switzerland’s Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) due to its contribution to a more sustainable food system, is already in operation.

Bühler adds Volvo Cars to its megacasting customers

Uzwil (Switzerland) – The Swedish premium car brand Volvo Cars has purchased two Carat 840 die-casting cells for its factory in Torslanda, Sweden. The Carat 840, along with Carat 920, Bühler’s largest die-casting solutions, were launched in 2021. These solutions have become very attractive for customers in the automotive industry.

Clara has worked in supply chain sustainability in Latin America, engaging with stakeholders to design and implement solutions that protect forests and respect human rights. In 2022, Clara was named a 2022 Google.org Leader to Watch.

Molecular biologist turned entrepreneur, Pete is an expert in innovation management, biotechnology and a certified AgTech consultant. As CEO, he leads the team’s effort in transforming the polluters of today into the producers of tomorrow.

Stephanie holds a BSc. Biotechnology and a MSc. Engineering in Biotechnology. Throughout her studies she held various internships and part time roles in biotechnology companies & start-ups.

Robin has an education in chemical engineering from England. Since 2011, he has pioneered Migros strategy, investments, and activities in the cultured meat area.
