At Bühler, we believe in giving every employee a voice. Generation B is a global movement within Bühler which actively shapes the company that we work for and the environment that we live in by empowering employees to take ownership of projects they’re passionate about.

Connecting expertise with opportunity

Partners in Food Solutions (PFS) is a nonprofit organization which aims to strengthen food security, improve nutrition and increase overall economic development across Africa. Corporate Partners from the food industry such as General Mills, DSM, Cargill, Ardent Mills, Smucker’s and Hershey encourage their employees to volunteer and support food entrepreneurs in 11 African countries with their expertise. Bühler joined the initiative in 2013. Since then, our employees supported various PFS projects, volunteered thousands of hours and passed on their know-how to 39 companies in Africa. By sharing their expertise, the volunteers were able to assist local entrepreneurs in growing their businesses and support a large number of farmers.

SWAP – collaborative mentoring

SWAP (See With Another Perspective) is a collaborative mentoring program in which colleagues with different professional backgrounds have the opportunity to exchange insights and knowledge, developing a relationship that fosters inter-generational dialogue and collaboration. The SWAP program helps to build bridges across Bühler regions and businesses, fight silo thinking, and contributes to an inclusive and diverse company culture that values trust, ownership, and passion.

A Generation B initiative for a diverse STEM world and workplace

In the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), women are still vastly underrepresented. As this is also the case at Bühler, we strongly believe that we need to change it. Within our initiative, we work towards an inclusive STEM world and workplace by fighting gender stereotypes as well as by inspiring girls and women to pursue a career in STEM and become leaders of the future at Bühler.
