Application Center Beilngries

A unique playground 🎞️

One thing is certain: a better future starts with a good idea. But how do we recognize a good idea? And how can we turn a good idea into a great idea? We want to find the answer together with our customers in Beilngries – where we opened the world's first Application Center for grain processing, malting and brewing in 2020.

In the heart of Bavaria, in Beilngries, are the headquarters of our Grain Quality & Supply Business Area, which includes the Grain Handling, Malting and Brewing, and Rice Solutions Business Units. The machines and technologies developed here have found a new home in the Application Center, which was built in 2019.

The latest technologies in malting, brewing, grain processing and storage are housed in an area of over 1,500 m². Distributed over three process lines, our customers can have their own grain tested and analyzed on our machines.

Testing on an industrial scale

All machines installed in the Application Center are industrial scale and the results can be directly transferred to customer plants. A unique feature is the setup of the complete malting line with batch sizes of up to 1.5 tons, which far exceed the laboratory standard. Here we offer customers the opportunity to jointly develop new recipes and optimize their processes.

The flexible design makes it possible, for example, to save energy through air reversal, or to use less water through the built-in washing screw. In the malting industry in particular, there is great potential for conserving resources.

On our malting line customers can develop new recipes and optimize their processes. On our malting line customers can develop new recipes and optimize their processes. On our malting line customers can develop new recipes and optimize their processes.

Increasing efficiency and sustainability

Trials in the Application Center give us the opportunity to develop efficient and sustainable processes together with our customers, thus contributing to our 50/50/50 goals. With these goals, we are committed to have solutions ready to multiply by 2025 at the latest that will reduce energy, waste, and water by 50% in its customers’ value chains.
