CompactMix unites mixing and ball mill grinding in one compact system, turning ingredients into chocolate, compounds, spreads, fillings, and coatings with smooth texture. Its hygienic, flexible design enables efficient production with minimal footprint.
CompactMix flexibly processes a wide variety of recipes, from compounds with only 25% fat content up to high-fat formulations. Suitable for chocolate bars, fillings, spreads, and coatings, it ensures stable processing and high-quality results across different market demands.
The system’s closed, hygienic stainless-steel mixer design prevents contamination risks and supports food safety compliance. With smooth surfaces cleaning is quick and straightforward, minimizing downtime and ensuring safe, reliable operation.
CompactMix ensures fast, homogeneous mixing of powders, sugar, and liquids. Its spiral agitator ensures efficient mixing, while integrated load cells enable precise dosing. Stainless-steel design and smooth surfaces simplify cleaning. Available in stacked or side-by-side setups, the tanks enable efficient mixing and recipe flexibility.
Beyond CompactMix, Bühler offers complete processing solutions – from raw material cleaning and handling, through mixing and grinding, all the way to shaping chocolate and compound products.
Aurora ball mill achieves consistent fineness below 20 μm in a single pass. Its water-cooled rotor-stator design protects sensitive ingredients by keeping product temperatures low. Automatic piston control ensures consistent grinding without operator input, while compact chamber volumes minimize product losses during cleaning and changeovers.
CompactMix is prepared for integration with upstream and downstream equipment. The system can connect to Bühler Insights for real-time data analysis and optimization, enabling future digital upgrades and ensuring long-term investment security.
Optional light-conching
The light-conching option enables controlled moisture reduction and removal of off-flavors. It enhances flavor balance, improves texture, and creates a smoother mouthfeel. This step refines product quality and supports premium applications with consistent, high-end results.

The optional pre-grinding unit reduces sugar particles to ~400 µm. This improves energy input and prevents sedimentation, ensuring higher process stability. Particularly beneficial for low-fat, high-sugar and coarse-sugar formulations, it increases system efficiency and enhances performance across recipes.
