Economic contribution

The higher the business value we can provide for our customers, the better our financial performance and the impact we can generate on our purpose of innovating for a better world. Two billion people each day enjoy foods produced by our equipment; and one billion people travel in vehicles manufactured using parts produced with our technology. Having this global relevance, we are in a unique position to turn today’s challenges into sustainable business.

A next level

Bühler has strengthened its market positions as a result of its innovations in new products, services, and applications. CEO Stefan Scheiber and CFO Mark Macus explain how Bühler was able to secure timely deliveries to customers even under difficult conditions thanks to its strong global production, supply, service network, and its dedicated people. At the same time, Bühler further improved its financial stability with improvements in the net liquidity and the equity ratio. Order intake grew by 15.6% to CHF 3.02 billion, while turnover remained stable at CHF 2.7 billion, and net profit grew by 3.2% to CHF 113 million.

Research and development

For Bühler, innovation and longevity are synonymous. Since its origin in 1860, the world has undergone serial technological and market transformations. With its strong research and development mindset, Bühler has considered how new scientific advances could provide potential benefits to customers at each evolutionary moment.

Urs Bühler Innovation Fund

The Urs Bühler Innovation Fund (UBIF) was established in 2014 to support the company’s innovation efforts. Bühler invests between 4% to 5% of its turnover in research and development every year – developing breakthrough technologies and services to strengthen Bühler’s market position as well as exploiting new opportunities to stay ahead of the innovation curve. The Advisory Board managing the UBIF focuses on accelerating innovation and developing relevant ecosystems.

More information about each of the UBIF members can be found in the Governance PDF.
