For transferring design data directly to the coating machine

With the steadily increasing complexity of layer stacks to be coated onto substrates, today’s thin-film designers require additional external software tools. These tools calculate and simulate the thin-film properties, thus eliminating large testing sequences and adaptations directly at the coating machine. Since Bühler Leybold Optics first invented the Leybold Monitoring Report (LMR) file format more than ten years ago, a large variety of major layer-design tools are now supporting this format as a standard interface to transfer data to further coating equipment applications. In combination with the LEYBOLD OPTICS OMS 5100 in-situ optical measuring system, newly required spectral curve characteristics can now be achieved within the first coating process, thus minimizing the transfer time from the design stage to a real product. With the proprietary software tools LEYBOLD OPTICS "LayerCalc2Recipe" and LEYBOLD OPTICS "SimuOMS5000", our customers have the unique option to transfer their own layer stack design directly into the control systems of our coaters such as the SYRUSpro series and HELIOS series. When LEYBOLD OPTICS "SimuOMS5000" is used in combination with the premium in-situ optical measuring device LEYBOLD OPTICS OMS 5100, the design can be processed virtually in advance and in accordance with the individual machine’s characteristics. After direct data transfer to the coaters, the theoretical design is made physically visible with the first shot.
