Animal nutrition

Increasing meat consumption and consumer demand for more sustainable products call for alternative protein sources in animal feed. Insects offer a unique opportunity to address present and future protein supply challenges.  They are not only part of the natural diet of many animals but can also be produced anywhere in the world without fertile land.

We offer technologies to grow insects on organic residues and process them into protein meals with balanced amino acid profiles and lipids high in lauric acid. Both products are naturally palatable, highly digestible and have demonstrated benefits for the growth and health of animals. We apply stringent safety and quality standards which allow producers to easily integrate these ingredients into existing formulations.

Sustainable, tasty feed for pets

Either formulated in dry or wet products, insects are a sustainable food source that combine high palatability with easy digestibility. Since insect protein is a new ingredient in pet food, it is a suitable option for animals with common-food related allergies.

Digestible, healthy feed for pigs

Due to their functional properties, insect ingredients can be formulated in piglet feed. Five percent protein inclusion has shown an improved feed conversion rate while ten percent inclusion of lipids is beneficial for piglets that suffer from digestive problems.

Nutritious, balanced feed for broilers

Insect ingredients can successfully replace conventional sources like soybean in broiler feed. Inclusion of three percent of insect protein meal results in a better animal health by stimulating the immune system, thus allowing a more stable production.

Natural feed for tastier eggs

Insects can be readily used as a natural feed for laying hens. With insects in their diet, laying hens show not only a more natural behavior and reduced mortality during the life cycle, but also lay eggs with improved appearance, quality and taste.

Sustainable, palatable feed for fish

By replacing fishmeal in aquafeed applications, insect protein leads to a more healthy gut of the fish, which results in higher feed conversion and survival rates. In addition, insect lipids can alter the final quality of the fish by reducing the fat deposition.
