Coating technologies to enhance your processes

In the optoelectronics industry, the integration of optical thin films into wafer-based substrates is essential to add optical functionalities to electronic components. To maintain the electrical capabilities as well as the structured setup of the wafer, relatively cold processes are often necessary. ITO coatings
This material composition combines the best electrical properties with the optical performance of the thin film. Such indium tin oxide (ITO) coatings are mainly used as transparent electric conductive electrodes.

AR coatings
For most optoelectronics applications, there is a need to gather as much of the incoming light as possible. Anti-reflection (AR) coatings applied to the surface of the entry window or lens reduce the reflection to a minimum. This, in turn, improves the signal quality to the maximum.

Easy-clean coatings
For portable devices with a surface finish, it is particularly important for the end user that said surface can be easily cleaned without having to use water, alcohol or other detergents. Bühler Leybold Optics offers a large variety of different clean coating solutions that allow users to effortlessly wipe off greasy marks with a simple tissue.

Various metal coatings
Metal coatings are either used for highly reflective mirrors or long-lasting electrical contacts. Depending on the material used, however, highly absorbent layers can also be created which in turn protect the electrical components from ambient light.
