Buhler-Tailored Nanoprocess®
In the same way as with the Buhler-Tailored Nanobatch®, three stages are also applied in the Buhler-Tailored Nanoprocess® with its established product supply situation, starting with a Buhler-Tailored Nanoprocess® collaboration project. First, the requirement profile is defined together with the customer. Buhler PARTEC will then evaluate the suitable base material and define the appropriate surface modification of the particles. The customer will receive different generations of specimen suspensions from Buhler PARTEC containing differently functionalized nanoparticles. The suspensions are incorporated in the end product and tested at the customer’s site. As soon as the desired results are obtained, Buhler PARTEC will upscale the results to allow larger quantities to be supplied to the customer for application and production tests. Upon completion of this phase, the customer will launch his products. Buhler PARTEC will supply the tailor-made additives, process parameters, and if necessary additional equipment and systems. The customer is now in a position to manufacture the nanoparticle suspensions himself.
During the Buhler-Tailored Nanoprocess® collaboration project, Buhler PARTEC will bear all of its own development costs. During the period of development, the customer will participate by paying two retention fees. However, when invoiced for the additives, the customer will be granted a price discount until the retention fees have been completely paid back.
