Mechanical ship unloaders

Buhler mechanical ship unloaders are equipped with high-capacity chain conveyors and satisfy all the requirements for achieving efficient and trouble-free material handling. The self-contained, rugged conveyors of rain-proof and dust-tight design enable ships with sizes up to 120,000 DWT (Dead Weight Tons) to be unloaded at throughput rates up to 1,440 metric tons per hour, depending on the particular type.

Eleven ship unloader types
Buhler offers eleven different mechanical ship unloader types. The specific selection depends on the size of the ships to be unloaded and the required unloading throughput.

Sophisticated automatic unloading system
An automatic sink-in mechanism ensures the optimal position of the marine leg boot in the material inside the ship’s hold and allows automatic unloading down to the minimum depth of material. The various possibilities of moving the boom and the sophisticated kick-in/kick-out system provide a very large range of action inside the ship’s hold.
The material is transferred to permanent conveying systems or directly to road or rail vehicles.
The tried and tested design with its proven and wear-resistant mechanical and hydraulic components ensures low sensitivity to foreign objects and high operating reliability even when material characteristics vary. The ship unloaders are easy to operate through their PLC visualization control system and are distinguished by their low energy consumption.
