Bulk storage systems
Following unloading from ships, road or rail vehicles, the bulk materials are usually stored in intermediate silos before being either conveyed onward or processed. The basic function of storage silos is to equalize surges between raw materials reception, the production of intermediate and end products, and the holding of the finished products prior to loadout. Malfunctions in bulk storage systems will have an impact on the entire downstream production process.
To ensure trouble-free service of vertical storage silos, en-masse flow is indispensable, where the material surface descends uniformly inside the silo.
The Buhler Grain Handling Business Unit supplies bulk storage systems as turnkey installations. Depending on the prevailing conditions, different storage system designs are possible.
